Materna is a supporting member of GovTech Campus Deutschland

The GovTech Campus Germany is the world’s first innovation, development and learning space of its kind and creates the ideal conditions for the modernisation of government and democracy. Materna is now an official supporting member of the Campus.

As a supporting member, Materna aims to provide long-term support for the call from many administrative staff for ideas to be reviewed and implemented swiftly. One objective is to integrate these ideas into the day-to-day work of the public administration as early as 2024.

Generative artificial intelligence plays a key role in digitalisation projects and will therefore also be a major focus for Materna at the Gov Tech Campus. The Materna Generative AI Factory develops concrete AI application scenarios for public administration. The solutions developed effectively ease the burden of day-to-day administrative work – developed in and for Germany, transparently, securely and in compliance with the GDPR.

“Within the Gov Tech Campus community, Materna will make a concrete contribution to digitising public administration in Germany even more effectively and quickly. We have many years’ experience and expertise within the public sector and bring extensive technical implementation know-how to the table,” says Johannes Rosenboom, SVP Sales, Marketing and BDM in the Public Sector division.

Campus connects stakeholders

The Campus connects innovative stakeholders from all sectors and promotes mutual exchange. Organised learning and knowledge-sharing platforms are available via the Campus for this purpose. Participants can utilise the central infrastructure for collaboration with the technology sector: from project design, through proof-of-concepts, to the launch of specific projects.

The first Campus site opened in Berlin in 2021. Experts from Materna will also be on site to help shape the initiative. The Campus provides modern facilities for public authorities, start-ups, civil society organisations, research organisations and tech companies. The modern event and seminar rooms are freely available to all members. Hybrid event formats, live streams, a digital and tech curriculum for the public sector, and active community management create an inspiring environment and generate effective impetus for the digital transformation of government and public administration.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland Affairs has established the GovTech Campus Germany as a forward-looking initiative in collaboration with the federal states, academia, industry and civil society. The aim is for government and public administration at federal, state and local levels to carry out technology and innovation projects in collaboration with the Campus’s ecosystem. In this way, the Campus modernises the working methods and approaches of public administration and improves administrative services for citizens and businesses.

Ammar Alkassar, Chair of GovTech Campus Deutschland, Matthias Syzmanski (Materna) and Johannes Rosenboom (Materna) are looking forward to working on joint projects at the GovTech Campus.
