From Rising Star to Leader: Materna has been recognised as a Leader in Strategic Security Services in the ISG Provider Lens™ Cyber Security – Services and Solutions 2026

ISG has recognised Materna as a leading provider of cyber security consultancy in Germany.

Materna is one of the leading providers of cyber security consultancy in Germany.

In the latest ISG Provider Lens™ Cyber Security – Services and Solutions 2026, Materna was ranked as a Leader in the ‘Strategic Security Services’ quadrant for the first time, marking a significant improvement on the previous year.

According to ISG, organisations today benefit particularly from partners who combine technological, regulatory and strategic cyber security expertise. Against a backdrop of increasing cyber threats, new regulatory requirements such as NIS2 and DORA, and a shortage of skilled workers, the demand for holistic security consultancy is rising steadily.

The analysts particularly highlight Materna’s comprehensive consultancy portfolio, its strong local presence and its expertise in regulatory matters. ISG cites support with NIS2, the KRITIS umbrella law and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) as particular strengths. Furthermore, clients value the provision of consultancy services from Europe – an important aspect in view of growing requirements regarding data protection and digital sovereignty.

“Materna is enjoying increasing success and is making the transition from ‘Rising Star’ to a leading provider of cyber security consultancy services in Germany,” says ISG analyst Frank Heuer, assessing the company’s development. The analysts attribute this rise, amongst other things, to the broad range of services, the strong security team and the strategic development of the consultancy offering.

The latest ISG report also shows that German companies are increasingly adopting a long-term approach to their cyber security strategies. There is a demand for partners who can provide support in the areas of resilience, compliance, governance and dealing with new challenges such as AI-based attacks or the risks of the quantum computing era. Companies are increasingly seeking integrated, sovereign security solutions and are placing their trust in providers with in-depth consultancy expertise and a European presence.

By naming Materna a ‘Leader’, ISG confirms the company’s position as a reliable partner for organisations seeking to strengthen their cyber resilience, meet regulatory requirements and shape their digital transformation securely.
