The Public Transport Symposium will be presenting the Haus der Digitalisierung NRW live

This year’s NRW Public Transport Symposium on 3 September 2020 will take place for the first time as a unique digital event. During the moderated live broadcast, participants joining online will learn how far the ‘House of Digitalisation’ in NRW has already progressed. There will be four key topics: the E-Government Act and the Online Access Act, citizen interfaces, basic digital components and innovation topics. The broadcast will begin at 10.00 am, live from bauwerk.köln, a very special event venue. Registrations can be made at www.oev-symposium.de.

The ÖV Symposium is being organised for the 21st time by Materna SE and Infora GmbH. This well-established administrative congress is supported by the CIO of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as patron and by the leading local authority associations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

To kick things off, Minister Prof. Dr Andreas Pinkwart will outline his perspective on the “NRW digital” construction project in a welcome address. Participants will then witness live on the main stage the digital handover of the keys from Hartmut Beuß, the long-serving NRW CIO, to his successor, Prof. Dr Andreas Meyer-Falcke. Olympic beach volleyball champion Julius Brink has been invited as a special guest.

The afternoon will feature more than 30 specialist presentations by administrative experts across four parallel forums, which will also be streamed live. Participants can join in the discussion via the chat function, ask the speakers questions, take part in live polls and make contact online with the sponsors and virtual exhibitors. Topics covered include the implementation of the OZG and related strategies, an update on the EGovG NRW, the NRW Service Portal and Service Account, digital sovereignty, open data, the cloud, model regions for local government, agile local authorities, as well as innovative topics such as artificial intelligence and many more.

“We have invited distinguished guests to discuss with us the current state of progress on the respective topics. In addition to the cornerstones of the administration’s digital sovereignty – the NRW E-Government Act and the Online Access Act, the basic digital components and the interface with citizens – we also have innovative, new topics on the agenda,” explains Martin Wibbe, CEO at Materna.

Participation is free of charge for representatives from the public sector. All other participants are required to pay a fee of 200 euros.
