On 2 September 2021, the time will have come: the 22nd NRW Public Transport Symposium will kick off under the theme ‘On the digital path to change’. The organisers, Materna and Infora, are continuing to run what has for many years been the largest gathering of public authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia in a virtual format, whilst also building on the themes of last year’s programme. High-ranking guests from the state and local government of NRW, alongside a virtual trade exhibition, will accompany the professional exchange on current digitalisation topics in public administration. The event is held under the patronage of the State CIO of NRW, Prof. Dr Andreas Meyer-Falcke, and is supported by the leading local government associations.
The 22nd NRW Public Administration Symposium will be broadcast on 2 September 2021 from 10.00 am as a live, moderated digital event from the bauwerk.köln TV studio. Guests in the studio will include Prof. Dr Andreas Meyer-Falcke, State CIO of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Andreas Wohland, Deputy Director of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia and representative of the leading local government associations. Prof. Dr Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, will open the event.
Under this year’s theme, ‘On the digital route to change’, participants will visit various virtual stops on a symbolic journey through the digitalisation landscape in North Rhine-Westphalia. The programme covers topics relating to the Online Access Act (OZG), such as new OZG services, the Serviceportal.NRW and the Kommunalportal.NRW. Participants will gain insights into the day-to-day digital operations of the public administration and interdisciplinary collaboration. A ‘Digital Lab’ will showcase innovative approaches for the future, for example in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing and smart cities.
Materna and Infora, along with renowned sponsors, will be showcasing their solutions at the trade exhibition and contributing to the wide-ranging programme with high-quality specialist presentations. Visitors can actively take part in the chat and make contact with speakers and exhibitors. As one of the largest ICT service providers for the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia and a Titanium Partner of the event, Deutsche Telekom Business Solutions GmbH is taking part in the panel discussion and an expert discussion on digital administrative work, and will be giving a presentation in the afternoon on the topic ‘Accelerating the implementation of the OZG through robotic process automation’. Ceyoniq Technology GmbH, a Platinum Partner of the event, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the new nscale eGov web client and present the pioneering technology of containerised e-file deployment. In addition to the technical presentation, Ceyoniq will provide insights into its multi-client strategy during a live interview. HiSolutions AG, also a Platinum Partner, will discuss the key role of the interaction between different systems and technologies for the digital school in a live talk and, in a further interview, will address the importance of service capability for digital transformation in the state.
