Materna and Infora invite you to the NRW Public Transport Symposium 2021

A virtual live conference on the digitalisation of public authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia will take place on 2 September 2021.

The digitalisation of public administration in North Rhine-Westphalia is the focus of the 22nd NRW Public Administration Symposium on 2 September 2021. Visitors to the live event can take part remotely and find out about innovative digitalisation projects in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The deadline for the call for papers is 20 May 2021.

As in previous years, the 22nd Public Transport Symposium is being organised by Materna and Infora with the support of the local authority umbrella organisations and is held under the patronage of the CIO in North Rhine-Westphalia. The presentations will be given by representatives from state and local authorities. As this year’s theme, ‘On the digital path to change’, suggests, digitalisation is a cross-cutting issue on which all stakeholders should move forward together.

The four thematic areas:

  • The digital workplace: Covid-19 and working from home are making digital the new normal
  • Digital administrative work: the OZG in the context of inter-agency cooperation
  • Digital touchpoints: OZG with services for citizens and businesses
  • The Digital Lab: The next step – new technologies in public administration

In their presentations, experts will, amongst other things, showcase successful projects, report on the impact of the pandemic on electronic administrative work, the sustainable integration of digitalisation across the state and in local authorities, and progress in implementing the OZG. The programme also provides for the active involvement of participants. This allows them to discuss topics via the chat function, ask questions, take part in polls and make contact with sponsors and virtual exhibitors.

“We are keen to see the progress made on the many e-government projects. The pandemic has proved to be a driving force for digitalisation. The ÖV Symposium is the ideal platform for an exchange of ideas on innovative projects in North Rhine-Westphalia,” says Martin Wibbe, CEO at Materna.
