Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency expands its range of online support services

IT service provider Materna has completely revamped the ADS website.

The website of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (ADS) has undergone a comprehensive relaunch and now features significantly expanded functionality and restructured content. At www.antidiskriminierungsstelle.de, members of the public can find information and support services provided by the ADS to help them tackle discrimination in various areas of life. The IT service provider Materna provided comprehensive support for the website relaunch and implemented it using the Government Site Builder (GSB).

The ADS’s new website, which has been live since 16 June, presents the agency’s extensive range of information and advice in a well-structured, clear and easily accessible manner. The website provides information on the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and explains discrimination in various areas of life, as well as the rights of those affected. Various specialised search functions form the heart of the new website. A publication search function allows users to find reports and literature on (anti-)discrimination topics. The advice centre search function enables users to contact the relevant centre quickly and without red tape. The interactive emergency help guide, newly integrated into the website, also directs users to suitable advisory services.

From the initial concept through to technical implementation, training and support, the IT service provider Materna played a key role in the success of the relaunch. Materna designed the new website in collaboration with the ADS and implemented it using the federal government’s content management solution, the Government Site Builder (GSB). Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the website is accessible and multilingual. When implementing the advice centre search function, Materna incorporated various filtering options, such as a radius search and categorisation by grounds of discrimination. The agency zweiband developed the new design for the website.
