23rd NRW Public Symposium in Düsseldorf

The call for papers is open until the end of April.

After two years of online events, the largest gathering of public sector organisations in North Rhine-Westphalia will once again take place as an in-person event on 24 August 2022. Materna and Infora invite you to the 23rd North Rhine-Westphalia Public Transport Symposium at the Congress Centre Düsseldorf. Speakers from the public sector who are interested can apply to take part in the programme by 29 April 2022.

Under the motto ‘Digital.Normal – Insights into everyday digital public administration’, experts from public administration and the business sector will come together at this year’s NRW Public Administration Symposium to exchange ideas. This platform for information and discussion addresses the diverse, state-specific issues surrounding digitalisation and highlights the progress made and challenges faced in state and local government in North Rhine-Westphalia. The ÖV Symposium is held under the patronage of Prof. Dr Andreas Meyer-Falcke, CIO of the State Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, and is supported by the leading local authority associations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

This year, in addition to the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG), the programme will focus on sector-specific digitalisation and register modernisation, innovative technologies, and topics such as open government, data sovereignty, change management, IT security and compliance, human resources, education, and administrative communication.

Interested speakers from the public sector can take part in the moderated specialist forums with a presentation of around 20 minutes on a public sector project or solution. They can submit their presentation online here by 29 April.

Johannes Rosenboom, Vice President of Sales in the Public Sector at Materna, is already looking forward to the event: “Record attendance figures in recent years, with up to 800 participants, reflect the high relevance of this public sector gathering. We are very much looking forward to engaging in face-to-face discussions with specialists, managers, project representatives and experts from all areas of public administration. Once again, we are offering our participants new and exciting discussion formats, and for the first time we are also giving young start-ups the opportunity to take part as exhibitors.”

Public administration bodies, start-ups and IT companies can take part in the programme and also have a stand at the accompanying exhibition. Interested exhibitors can request booking documents via the event website www.oev-symposium.de. The early-bird discount for exhibitors is available until 13 May.
