Taking responsibility

Social commitment is a top priority in a family business like Materna.

Social projects

Materna is continuously dedicated to supporting projects in the fields of education and sport, for socially and economically disadvantaged social groups and in the promotion of children and young people through our involvement in various initiatives. A central point of our activities is the annual Christmas donation. This donation goes to non-profit organisations and associations that are particularly important to our employees and in which they are actively involved. We also support local organisations and aid projects at all our locations throughout the country in order to make a contribution to regional support.

Laila Frasson, Materna project sponsor, and Regine Blazevic from "Mampferando" will receive EUR 12,147 to provide needy people with hot meals for a year.

Stoffwechsel e.V.

Project sponsor Anna Merkel is delighted to have received EUR 8,237 to promote the life skills of disadvantaged children through contact with horses.

Animal Welfare Centre Dortmund

Project sponsor Moritz Pickhardt and Jörg Woitzik from the Dortmund Animal Welfare Centre receive EUR 9,616 to support animals in need.

Telephone counselling Hagen-Mark

Birgit Knatz is delighted to receive the cheque from Materna employee Frank Pientka in 2022. The need for counselling and a confidential conversation has risen sharply, especially during this time. The volunteers support people seeking advice in their distress and suffering, in small and large crises.

Mission Congo

Materna project sponsor Ralf Hülsbömer (left) hands over the cheque to the founder of Mission Congo Jürgen Daldrup in 2022. The fate of the more than four million orphaned children in the Congo is of great concern to the members and supporters of the organisation from Münster. The aim is to secure a future in their country for children who have been abandoned due to poverty, war and disease.

Creative workshop sunflower

The Sonnenblume creative workshop offers refugee families a place where they can exchange ideas and spend time outside their own four walls with the help of creative activities such as painting, handicrafts, sewing and music. With the help of the Materna donation, many new materials can be purchased in 2022.
