We accompany you on your way to the cloud

With Digital Services Enablement, we make CIOs fit for the cloud!

Digital Services Enablement

Would you like to improve existing products or services with the help of cloud technologies or develop new digital business models? We support CIOs in identifying the potential of cloud technologies and realising it in a targeted manner.

"There are many reasons to digitalise your business model and move to the cloud"

  • You can expand your products with digital services that provide your customers with added value and further increase your attractiveness on the market.
  • New digital business models expand your range of services and portfolio, enabling you to grow in new markets.
  • Customer experience improves your customer loyalty and you can address your customers more emotionally and on-demand.

Utilising the potential of the cloud

With Journey2CloudTM, Materna has developed a modular approach that enables companies in any industry to recognise the potential of cloud technologies for their business model and implement it in a targeted and individual way. We support companies according to their individual level of maturity and in particular with new, digital business models. We have extensive expertise in the digitalisation of processes and the creation of solutions for new business models. As a German quality provider, we are able to deliver internationally.

Design Thinking

With the help of design thinking, we work with you to develop new "disruptive" ideas for a digital business approach.

Use Cases

Based on use cases, we develop initial ideas focussing on the interaction of market participants and incorporating industry requirements and market developments.

Small iteration steps

In the next step, we develop agile solutions in our software factory and implement them as prototypes (minimum viable product, MVP). In small iteration steps, we arrive at the optimum "result". In this way, a solution is created step by step and integrated into the existing eco-system.

Set up productive system

The production system is then set up and transferred to a managed service as part of a comprehensive end-to-end analysis. Materna will work with you to determine the most suitable scenario for you in terms of a private, public or hybrid (multi-)cloud environment.

Planning and realisation

An important step in cloud enablement is the planning and implementation of the required cloud technologies. This includes, for example, setting up reliable data lake systems, AI and RPA for data analysis.

Technological basis

Materna Digital Service Enablement provides you with the technological basis for a digital expansion of your products, a new approach to the market, addressing new customers and improving the resilience of your business model.

Microservice architecture

In a recent customer project, Materna first modernised a previously monolithic logistics platform of a German company to a microservice architecture and then immediately migrated it to the cloud. It is now ready to implement a wide range of functional requirements quickly and continuously, while also utilising the new possibilities of the cloud. For example, automatic scaling of the infrastructure has already been realised so that there are no bottlenecks even during peak load phases and sufficient server capacity is always available.

Machine data in a Microsoft Azure-based cloud application

In another customer project, Materna developed a solution for ITW Hobart, a global manufacturer of large kitchen appliances, that processes status data from large kitchen appliances used by customers worldwide. The machine data is stored in a Microsoft Azure-based cloud application. Customers and the company's own technicians access this data via mobile apps and web applications.

Sensor data from vehicles

A project in the field of connected car services involves collecting, networking and analysing sensor data from vehicles. The solution provides all users with data from the vehicles that is relevant to road safety. Anonymised real-time information, for example about water and black ice on the road, is provided and drivers are automatically warned. Other car manufacturers and map specialists are already involved in the exchange and combination of such traffic data. This is the basis for further monetisation of the data.

Service-orientated architecture

We are modernising the traffic control centre for one of Europe's largest state-owned road transport operators. Our part in this is the centrepiece of the service-oriented architecture: the integration platform. The exclusive use of open source software achieves digital sovereignty and ensures future security. Open interfaces, a software repository and the Kubernetes runtime environment round off the DevOps implementation and enable rapid horizontal scaling and easy adaptation to increasing data volumes.
