We offer qualified IT specialists and graduates appealing entry-level opportunities with our trainee program.
In our trainee programs, we fully integrate you into a project team right from the very start. This is further enhanced by our tried-and-tested training program to help you find your way around when you first join us.
Soft skills training provides further skills and knowledge in the fields of presentation and performance management, moderation and teamwork, interviewing and conflict management, as well as self and customer management.
In addition, you take part in subject-specific training depending on your focus. The spectrum ranges from programming courses, project management training (e.g. PRINCE2 and Scrum) to manufacturer-specific product training (e.g. Microsoft, ServiceNow, BMC).
We make sure that our trainee network. Not only do trainees get to know each other better, but also seasoned specialists and managers become closely acquainted with highly motivated junior staff at an early stage.
We want to turn our trainees into versatile young professionals who, upon completing their trainee program, take on a responsible specialist or management position within our company.
Learn about IT professions in theory and practice
We employ students as student employees or interns. We supervise and monitor project work as well as bachelor and master theses. Our goal is always a long-term commitment and recruitment following graduation.
Materna was founded as a spin-off of the local University of Dortmund, so the employment of student employees has a long-standing tradition. Many of our current executives began their careers as student employees.
Work as a student assistant (m/f)
You are a student of computer science, business informatics or related subjects (e.g. media informatics, communication technology). You want to put your good theoretical knowledge from your studies into practice and work successfully on real customer projects. You like to take responsibility, are committed and want to contribute to the company's success with your creative ideas. Then join us as a student employee. In addition, our Academic Cooperations department has the opportunity to collaborate on research projects that we implement together with universities or industrial companies.

We take responsibility for the orientation and training of junior IT staff.
IT is not just IT: For some IT professions you need programming skills, for others you need technical knowledge or an interest in commercial activities. We offer five different vocational training courses: IT specialist in application development, IT specialist in system integration, IT system salesperson, office management clerk and dual study program.
